Zhang XinYi Selina (b. 1996) is an interdisciplinary artist and architectural designer working between London, Hong Kong, and China. Her practice spans drawing, painting, writing, ceramics, sculpture, video, sound, and spatial installation. Rooted in personal narrative, her work explores healing, memory, emotional vulnerability, and the search for connection through intimate and poetic forms of storytelling.

Born in Shenzhen and raised in Hong Kong, Selina graduated from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London (2023), where she received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architecture. Her background in architecture continues to inform her artistic language, shaping her sensitivity towards space, atmosphere, materiality, and the relationship between body and environment.

In 2019, during her studies, Selina experienced a period of severe depression and suicidal ideation. She decided to pause her architectural education and travelled to Koh Phangan, Thailand, where she immersed herself in yoga, meditation, and spiritual practice, later becoming a teacher herself. This period profoundly transformed her understanding of the body, consciousness, and creativity, and became a pivotal foundation for her artistic practice.

In 2020, while attending an artist residency in Dali, China, she began a daily drawing practice as a way of navigating healing and self-discovery. What started as a documentation of everyday life gradually evolved into an intimate dialogue with herself: a mirror through which she could process emotions, desires, memories, and unresolved longings. This ongoing ritual became both an emotional archive and a gateway to reconnecting with her inner child, marking the beginning of her artistic journey.

In 2022, Selina returned to London to complete her studies and continued her artistic journey. Her work reflects an ongoing attempt to make sense of the human experience: exploring themes of loneliness, tenderness, identity, belonging, and emotional transformation. Through her practice, she seeks to create spaces where vulnerability can exist openly, and where people may feel seen, heard, and understood. She believes every individual carries a story worth listening to, and that art can become a bridge between inner worlds.

Her work has been exhibited in London, Tokyo, and across China.

张心怡出生于深圳，在香港长大，毕业于伦敦建筑联盟学院（Architectural Association School of Architecture），并获得建筑学本科及硕士学位。建筑背景持续影响着她的艺术语言，使她对于空间、氛围、材料，以及身体与环境之间关系具有高度敏感性。

2019年，在建筑学业中段，张心怡经历了一段严重的抑郁时期。她选择暂停学业，前往泰国帕岸岛，深入学习瑜伽、冥想与身心灵实践，并后来成为瑜伽与冥想导师。这段经历深刻地改变了她对于身体、意识与创造力的理解，也成为她艺术实践的重要起点。

2020年，在中国大理参加艺术驻留期间，她开始了“每日一画”的创作习惯，作为自我疗愈与寻找自我的方式。最初对于日常生活的记录，逐渐演变成一种与自我对话的过程：一面映照内心的镜子，使她得以梳理自己的情绪、欲望、记忆与未被言说的渴望。这一持续至今的创作仪式，也成为她重新连接内在小孩的重要入口，并标志着她艺术旅程的开始。

2022年，张心怡回到伦敦完成建筑学业，并正式全身心投入艺术创作。她的作品围绕着对人类经验的持续探索，关注孤独、温柔、身份认同、归属感以及情感转化等主题。她希望通过艺术创造出能够容纳脆弱性的空间，让人们感到被看见、被听见、被理解。她相信，每个人都拥有值得被倾听的故事，而艺术能够成为连接彼此内心世界的一座桥梁。

她的作品曾于伦敦、东京及中国多个城市展出。
